About Me!
Hello my name is David Horveath. I have been strongly influenced by many friends and family members of a wide array of hobbies. It all started when I was about 5. Probably my first exposure to the hobby world was Coin Collecting. Since my father also collected coins, it helped keep me focussed on collecting. Soon stamp collecting, vinyl 45RPM records and baseball cards followed. Another hobby strongly influenced by my parents and grandparents was attending yard sales, flea markets and various type of local auctions. I was able to use these events to build up my collections on a small available budget. I was hooked and started saving/collecting everything! It didn't take too long for me to realize this was a losing battle. When I turned 16, the amount of time spent on many of these hobbies were drastically reduced or even eliminated.
Having some free time in my early 30's, I started to develop new hobbies such as collecting Coin-op machines (arcade) and building computers and troubleshooting computer hardware. I still enjoy these new hobbies today however it doesn't take very long to realize collecting full size arcade games takes up alot of space!
Having been exposed to these hobbies for most of my life, I still enjoy participating with many of these hobbies today, although many are restricted because of the number of hobbies and the amount of available time for each hobby. Now in my early 40's it's time to eliminate/drastically streamline the quantity of hobbies to improve the quality of other hobbies. My goal is to widdle down to my top 3-4 hobbies that I will truly enjoy! This is because like many average Americans I am physically running out of storage space!
